Gameguard

Post by Romnalga »

Hi, i encountered this problem where installing Guest Additions would come into conflict with gameguard itself. It works without it but just having no visuals. (not being able to see anything, the game runs and authenticates)

Is there any feasible solutions? can someone help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

You really need to describe your problem better than that. For example I have no idea what Gameguard is, and you need to define the nature of the conflict.

gameguard is a anti cheat feature that runs with a game, particularly an mmorpg. http://global.nprotect.com/product/gg.php
i am trying to run multiple instances of the game via virtualbox, it works initially but when i install the guest additions, the gameguard just crashes the game without even starting it.

i am trying to see if it is possible to install just the virtual graphic driver on virtualbox instead of the guest additions package that is crashing the game due to gameguard.

Thanks for looking!

yes, there is a switch to extract the drivers. You can then install them on your own

What makes you say that?

Presumably it won't run at all without the GAs, so to say that the GAs cause a crash seems premature.

its working... i am able to install, surf and all that before GA.

Just want to know how can I get the graphics part only from the GA or any other alternative source.

Taken from the readme in the 32bits or 64bits folder on the ISO :
To extract the 32-bit drivers to "C:\Drivers", do the following:
VBoxWindowsAdditions-x86 /extract /D=C:\Drivers

For the 64-bit drivers:
VBoxWindowsAdditions-amd64 /extract /D=C:\Drivers
