Yes but the question is why? If you need assistance and don't have the log file no one can help you.

I turn off logging in all programs once I have them stable. It's just a preference.

See VBoxManage setproperty in your Users manual. LogHistoryCount
But as I said turning this off will negate any assistance you may need.

OK, I ran VBoxManage setproperty loghistorycount 0 . Appeared to execute, no errors, but logs still produced. Assume 0 wasn't the right answer?

VBoxManage list systemproperties should show if the count is right.

Shows as 0 but still produces logs. No worries, thanks for trying.Perryg wrote:VBoxManage list systemproperties should show if the count is right.

I did test this myself and it does produce a single log file if set to zero. I assume that is by design but if you really want to shut them off ( it used to work ), you would need to post a ticket at bugtracker.

Re: Turn off logging Win XP host Vbox 4.2.16
Didn't notice this until until just now but I think there actually is a bug here.
I tried to change the logging location by setting the snapshot folder. The VBoxSVC.log is now being produced in 2 locations, the original c:/documentsAndSettings folder AND in the folder I set for snapshot location.
I'm going set back to what it was and see what happens
