VBoxDUU.dll Application Error, Event ID 1000

I installed Virtualbox v4.2.14.0 on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit host. Windows Server 2008 R2 is the Guest OS with two dynamic SATA disks: Boot and Data. This worked well for several weeks but one day the Guest OS crashed and wouldn't restart.

I read an earlier post regarding checking the "use host i/o cache" would resolve this...and it did. But, as I understand it, since this results in delayed writes to the guest OS. Recently the host computer crashed during an extended power outtage and this resulted in a loss of Exchange Server data on the Guest VM. (One ot the log files was missing.)

I've read about this in earlier posts, but was hoping that this had been fixed. Are there any other suggestions that would allow me to uncheck that box? Is this resolved in 4.2.16?

What is the exact cause of the crash? The subjet of this topic?

I don't know. Worked fine for a couple of weeks then over a weekend the VM crashed and I could never restart it successfully until I checked the box "use host I/O cache" for the SATA/ACHI controller. Below is a Windows Application Event Log entry from the host machine. If I need to post this in another place, please advise.

If you can reproduce it with a very detailed step by step, please report this on the BugTracker, giving as many informaiton as possible about your setup. Make sure to include your VM log file aswell as its settings.
Finally, check first if a bug report already exists on this, and add to it your info. If not, create a new one.
In any case, please report back here the ticket link so people can follow up.
