Ubuntu 12.04 guest very unstable on 64-bit Win 7 (again)

I've recently updated VB to 4.2.16, making sure I updated Guest Additions at the same time. However, since then, VB seems very unstable (with the same symptoms as in a previous post of mine: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55663&p=257100#p257100). The same behaviour is exhibited when I have the memory set to 1024 Mb, 1536 Mb or 2048 Mb. I've attached the relevant file from the logs folder (VBox.log)

First error:

Code: Select all

00:00:01.370253 VRDE: Warning: failed to launch VRDE server (VERR_NET_ADDRESS_IN_USE): 'VirtualBox Remote Desktop Extension server can't bind to the port: 3389'
Suggests that you have enabled the Windows guests remote desktop (port 3389) and the vrdp is set to port 3389 as well. Change the vrdp port to something else ( 3390 )

Second error:

Code: Select all

VirtualBox VM 4.2.16 r86992 win.amd64 (Jul 4 2013 15:51:44) release log
00:00:38.616383 Guest Additions information report: Version 4.2.12 r84980 '4.2.12'
You need to update the guest additions

Third error:

Code: Select all

00:03:20.056360 PGM: Failed to procure handy pages; rc=VERR_NO_MEMORY rcAlloc=VINF_SUCCESS rcSeed=VINF_SUCCESS cHandyPages=0x8
00:03:20.058584 VM: Raising runtime error 'HostMemoryLow' (fFlags=0x2)
Not much anyone can do about this one (fatal error). You have run the host out of memory. Free up resources when running guests.
You can also check bugtracker for open tickets and see if they have one that might address an issue that can cause the host to run out of memory.
