Hi There,
As Rosetta was removed in Lion, I am trying to use Virtual Box to install an old Blizzard game. However, the file that I am trying to open is formated as a .DMG file and that is giving me some problems.
When I try to open the .DMG file I get an error message saying "Failed to open CD/DVD image" and "Could not get the storage format of the medium"
"(VERR_NOT_SUPPORT)"
Has anyone experienced a similar problem or know a way to get around this?
Thank you.

you can't use VirtualBox to install a game.

A .DMG is an image of a disk. However, for it to be mountable in a virtual CD drive it needs to be an image of a CD (or DVD) specifically. Is that the case? The error message says not, or else says that the image is corrupted - in which case compare MD5 checksums with the originator.

Re: Problems installing .dmg file with mac
he has a .dmg file of a game. when you download games for Macs they often come as a .dmg file. You would normally double-click on it and it would open on a Mac and would have either the game itself or an installer to run. the only way he could use it is if he had a working OSX 10.6 or less guest which isn't likely.

Re: Problems installing .dmg file with mac
Yes. I figured out that I needed to install OSX 10.6 first and then I should be able to install the .dmg file, it is indeed impossible just to install a .dmg file without OSX 10.6. Thanks for the help on that one. However, I continue to experience a problem when I try to install OSX 10.6 and I have not had any luck solving the problem. After the installation of OSX 10.6, It says: "Your Keyboard can't be identified and won't be usable until it is identified. To identify this Keyboard, click ok." When I click the screen my mouse simply disappears (seems neither the keyboard nor the mouse is supported) and my Keyboard wont work either which means I can't click or move forward. Pressing the mouse bottom disabling Mouse integration (Host+I) won't either. Any suggestions on how I can overcome this problem?
Thanks again for the comments guys.
