How to access USB Drive in Fedora

Post by jpsingh38 »

Hello everyone,

I have installed Fedora 17 Desktop Edition in Oracle Virtual Box(Version: VirtualBox-4.2.14-86644) on a Windows 7 based laptop having 3rd Gen core i5 processor and 4GB RAM. But i am not able to access USB Drive in Fedora. I have successfully installed the Extension Pack(Extension Pack 4.2.14-86644) but i failed to install the Virtual Box Guest Additions. I came across few errors which i am sharing here(attached screenshot and log file). Looking forward for valuable suggestions to get rid of this problem. Please help me to access the USB Drive.

PS: I have already updated my system by using below commands.
1) yum install xserver-xorg xserver-xorg-core
2) yum install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r` dkms
3) yum install dkms binutils gcc make patch libgomp glibc-headers glibc-devel kernel-headers kernel-pae-devel

Guest Additions are not required for USB access.

That's a FAQ question. Google "usb site:forums.virtualbox.org" for previous answers. If you still can't get it to work with all that info then there's isn't really much that can be added.
