after forever of using VB without incident it just gave me a error so instead of messing with it I just downloaded the new dmg file and installed it. but now all i get is this when i try to install the new dmg or any of the older ones. im not sure what step i should take next.

Have you tried from a cold boot of the computer?

yes i rebooted the mac and tried that right off before doing anything else. same effect.

you could try holding down the option key while dbl-clicking the file. that runs it in admin mode.
