I want to use thin client to remote connect to virtualbox VM (window XP), and try to use rdp and vnc, both of them lose frames when playing vedio or flash. does anyone know beside these protocols can use to remote connect, there are another ones? such as : sundec Diana zero client for VDI
Thanks very much.

I fail to see the link with Virtualbox here...

Well your problem, the way you describe it, is related to the RDP or VNC protocol, not to Virtualbox.

I wonder to know the virtualbox guest tool support some VDI protocol natively? I just found some thin client can remote connect to the vm (such as windows XP) and play video perfectly.

Re: how to improve remote connect to playback video smooth?
both RDP and VNC are supported by virtualbox. But both of them I have tried to remote connect the vm and play some 1080p video, it was bad. so I just wonder to know if there are another ones, such as SUN ray ALP (http://www.leostream.com/solutions/sun.php), redhat SPICE or vmware's PCoverIP .
anyway , Is there any advice of playing HD video using remote connection over VDI?

Yes via the VRDE server, which is NOT meant for video playing. Use native tools in the guest OS to perform such tasks, in which case this has nothing to do with Virtualbox.turingcat wrote:both RDP and VNC are supported by virtualbox
