Error in running OracleSolaris11_1 appliance in OVM

Post by hanzi_ru »

Hi, I imported OracleSolaris11_1 to Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager (version - 4.2.14) successfully. But when i start to run it i received the below error message:
"VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer."

Accordingly i enabled "Virtualization technology" option in the BIOS which is VT-x. But still i receive the same error message. Could you please help me by providing any other dependencies which cause this error. Thanks in advance

More than likely there is something else using VMX and preventing anything else from using it. XP mode, Hyper-v, some virus software, and some google apps have been known to do so.

Hi Thanks for the reply. I was able to get rid of that error after enabling the latest update of BIOS and completely shutting down and rebooting the machine
