Today I updated VB on my work pc to the version 4.2.14 and also updated VB tools.
Now every time VB starts it gives me "VBoxTestOGL.exe has stopped working" error message
I had a VM with 3D acceleration enabled, and I can't start it any more unless I disable 3D acceleration for it. And in any case I get the "VBoxTestOGL.exe has stopped working" error when starting VB in host.
My video is intel HD3000 with the latest drivers. Windows is 7 x64 SP1.
Now I understand that this particular video is weak and not fully compliant with the OpenGL standard. What I don't understand is why previous version worked, and this one does not.

I think there was no change in VBoxTestOGL between 4.2.12 and 4.2.14. Are you 100% certain that you did not update any graphics / 3D drivers of your host? VBoxTestOGL does a very simple OpenGL 3D test (it just initializes 3D). If that tool fails, the VM cannot start in 3D. Many drivers are buggy and even crash during that simple test. Therefore we use this separate application.
