Resolution stuck at 1024x768 on Kubuntu

I have a problem on my new Kubuntu 13.04 (64 bit) guest OS.
When I go to the resolution options to change it from 1024x768 to something else, it says that 1024x768 is the maximum resolution. I don't want those black borders around my screen(I have a 1680x1050 monitor), I want my OS to take up all the space it can.
My host OS is 64 bit Win7. Anyone know how to fix this?
