I'm attempting to install an Ubuntu 12.04.2 32-bit guest on my Windows 7 64-bit host. I've installed 32-bit Ubuntu several times in the past.
However, now I encounter a strange problem. The install appears to work as before (although I see an initial piix4_smbus error that I don't recall seeing before). Then, after the system restarts at the end of the install, it reports 'system is running in low-graphics mode'. I've deleted and recreated the guest several times, but the result is always the same.
I've search on this and find a recommendation to install GA. I start the system in terminal mode. I mount the ISO and the CD icon indicates that the GA is mounted. However, when I go to /media, there's nothing there.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: I found a torrent for the 12.04 ISO (the original release) and created a guest without problem. Problem appears to be specific to the 12.04.2 release.
