There was an error configuring your network interface

Hi,
I have VB 4.2.12 installed on my Win7 64bit host.
The other day, I created a new VM (Red Hat Enterprise 6.x 64bit.). I created the drive, memory etc for it and pointed the new VM to the install ISO that we have. All seemed to go fine at first, the ISO booted up fine, the virtual network adapter was installed (host only network adapter because I use GNS3) etc. The install completed fine and I was able to get to the command line and log into the Red Hat OS.
However, since I use GNS3, I was having some issues connecting my VM to a router in GNS3. I could not get the router to see the VM (no ARP from the VM, no traffic on the router interface etc).
In an effort to correct the above issue, I started tweaking around a bit with the Host-Only network adapter. I was not having much luck so I decided to start over. I uninstalled VB, GNS3 and even removed the Host-Only driver.
Now however I can not get the ISO to install any longer. After re-installing, I created a new VM, pointed it to the same ISO and when I start the VM, it works at first but the install will not complete any longer. I get a network error that says "There was an error configuring your network interface." And that's as far as I can get now.
This is a Red Hat error message but I think it's related to the Virtual Host Only network adapter. When I first installed VB, I noticed this adapter was created with a static IPv4 address as well as having the DHCP Server enabled along with the server info filled out (VB >> File >> Preferences >> Network >> VB HO Adapater >> Edit >> DHCP Server). Now however, the adapter has been re-created (via re-installation of VB) and the DHCP Server is not enabled any longer by default. When I do try to enable it, I get an error in VB that states "On the Network page, DHCP server address of VB HO Etherner Adapter is wrong."
Now, it seems that no matter what combination I try, I can not get past the network error. I am stuck here and can not even get back to where I was the other day where at least the RH OS installed fine :-/. I've un-installed/re-installed VB a few times, same thing each time now.
Does anyone have ideas on what I might try to correct this? I have a feeling this might be a Win7 issue underneath.
Thank you,
-Steve
