vb guest additions ISO

Post by shipinomore »

I installed Suse 12.3 as a guest on a Windows 7 host.
All went fine. I updated Suse and the running kernel and the devel. releases match.
installed gcc and some other needed programs.
now to install the Guest Additions 4.2.14-86644 it wants the ISO mounted from the Device tab.
I have googled every way I can think of but cannot find the ISO.
would someone help?
several releases ago I found a site that had earlier versions of this iso but cannot relocate it again.

Moving to "Windows Hosts".

You don't need to find the ISO. If you are using the official version of VirtualBox (not a repo forked version), then the ISO is bundled with the software. Choosing Devices|Install Guest Additions... mounts that ISO in the VM. The user manual should explain things from there.

Thank you for the reply. I was looking for that box in the lower right to pop up and for some reason it didn't.
I then opened it up with program manager and it brought up the various programs. chose the .sh one and it did compile correctly although it did ask
if it was somewhat a different install. clicked yes just to see what would happen and it all ran fine.
I then did a restart and view and then full screen.
thank you so much.
hasn't been my day for other reasons.
