I installed the guest additions for the testing version of virtualBox 4.2.51. Now that I've installed 4.2.14 none of those guests will boot. Now what?
edit: I have a few guests I actually created with 4.2.14 and they work fine. My Windows 7 guest works but I can't remember if I installed the 4.2.51 GAs in that or not. All the other guests so far that were either created with or just have the 4.2.51 GAs won't boot. They seem to almost reach the desktop then nothing other than lots of disk activity.

No point going further unless you use matching versions here...

actually I'm finding out that for the ones that won't start, if I drop into the terminal. login and restart them they seem okay. I have no idea why some are like that and some aren't. I've fixed about 4 so far. Hopefully I can fix them all.

Re: Problem Running Guests created with 4.2.51
found the problem. all the guests that wouldn't start had shared folders. because of getting another machine and moving some things around the folders they were pointing to no longer exist. I don't know why some guests cared and others don't but removing the non-existing shared folder fixed the problem.
