Windows 8 freezes after wake up

Hi,
I installed VirtualBox 4.2.14 on Win8 (64 bit,"Single Language") laptop Acer Aspire S3 and immediatelly noticed the machine began having problems when coming back from hibernation or sleep mode. The laptop freezes for around 60 seconds. During that time some apps freeze, others work fine. Example: when I type "ipconfig" in cmd window, all I get is "Windows IP Configuration" and it freezes. Task manager hungs completely and I am unable to track if there is any process holding the cpu or IO... I am unable to connect to network, run anything that is network dependant, but I can start file explorer or any app that does not use TCP stack. No issues noticed while cold booting.
I was not sure if the problem is actually caused by virtualbox, so I installed it on another machine -lenovo W530 with Win8 Pro 64. Identical situation here. Machine freezes after waking up from sleep mode. It seems to be related to the network subsystem. Anybody experienced similar issue ?
