Just installed Virtualbox and everything was working fine. Was able to work in Internet Explorer as I needed to. Quit it to do something else and when I went to relaunch the program again by double clicking on it, I get the icon expansion animation as with every launch, but it does nothing after that. The finder remains active. If I try to launch it from the dock, the icon jumps up once, and again, nothing happens. I restarted the computer and still have the same problem. Any suggestions as to what's going on?I

Not sure I understand your question. I can't get Virtualbox to launch. It won't run. It was running fine the first time I used it, now it won't run at all when double click on the app. I want to know what I need to do to fix this. Hopefully not a completely new install.

Try running the Repair Disk Permissions using DIsk Utility on your host

Did that, did the pram reset, tried disabling the quarantine flags, tried disabling the quarantine check altogether, changed all permissions with anything to do with Virtual box to read and write, and nothing works. At this point, just about ready to delete everything and reinstall. Didn't want to do that as it took about an hour the first time.

Not being a Mac user, I am afraid my help is limited here then. Seems like you tried pretty much everything that was already discussed by others, so I do not know more.

Reinstall is the obvious thing to try. You won't lose your VMs by doing this, only the software is updated.
