Hello,
I'm attempting to use VirtualBox to emulate various versions of Windows for technical support reasons. However, when I start a VirtualBox machine, I am being knocked off my VPN. My real network connection is via ethernet. I have no network adapters enabled in the settings for my virtual machines, however, I do have a USB filter enabled for a USB wifi adapter (I want the virtual machines to use wifi). Does anyone have any idea how I can configure my VM's in such a way that it won't interrupt my VPN connection on my host OS (Win 7x64)? Thanks!
Jeff

Re: Windows VM's knocking me off VPN
I would dedicate the ethernet adapter to the host and dedicate the wifi adapter to the vms. If you capture the USB adapter in on vm, only one vm will be able to use the connection. If you share it through the host, every vm can use it.
You control this through the NICproperties in the host OS. See this example on my skydrive.

If you don't pass the wifi adaptor to the VM via the USB, then use the cable for the VM. Wifi is known to cause all sort of issues if you bridge on it.
