Hi, I had been running 4.2.12. successfully on Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 (64-bit).

I started getting this message while loading VirtualBox-4.2.12-84980:

Code: Select all

Failed to load the global GUI configuration from .

The application will now terminate.

Callee RC: E_OUTOFMEMORY (0x8007000E)
I tried the following:
  • Uninstalling, reinstalling
    uninstalling, removing virtualbox.xml, reinstalling
uninstalling, extracting 4.2.12 as an msi, installing
    repairing from the control panel
    uninstalling, loading 4.2.10
uninstalling, removing virtualbox.xml, installing 4.2.12 as admin, starting as admin
I have tried all the suggestions at a related post:

Code: Select all

. (Don't have the rep to post URLs.)
Here is the latest log file:

Code: Select all

Prety clear error to me : You're out of memory. Either close programs to free up some RAM or get more RAM

Tried it from a fresh boot. Still getting the out-of-memory error.
Host RAM: 2046MB total, 991MB available
I don't think I need to buy more RAM.

BTW, I have run successfully for weeks on this same configuration.

Well a google search leads me to some obscure stuff... Might be worth posting on the dev mailing list here, seems like some error coming from the dark here.
