Dear all,
I would like to run an Unbuntu guest VM on a Windows XP host, but I do not have the admin access to the host. Still, I have the physical access and I can boot Ubuntu on the physical machine with USB drive, then access the all Windows XP drive with write access.
could someone tell me if this way I can install virtualbox on the XP machine?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Pierre

Nope, you can't install VirtualBox on that PC. You need (at least temporary) admin access because device drivers need to be installed, and you also need to install it while logged in as the correct user (which rules out booting from USB). You should ask IT support to install the app for you if you can't do it yourself.
