Ubuntu 12.10 NAT not working

Windows 7 host running VirtualBox 4.2.12 and latest Guest Extensions. Hosting VM guests for Ubuntu 12.12, XP and Windows 7.

Using NAT - works fine for Windows guests but Ubuntu guest WILL NOT connect.

Welcome any suggestions (please).
