Windows host fails to boot after installing VirtualBox

I've used VirtualBox for a long time. Recently I had to enable Hyper-V on my Windows 8 system to support Windows Phone development.

I am aware both will not co-exist at the same time.

I can disable Hyper-V when I don't need it.

The problem is, if I install VirtualBox, my computer fails to boot -- it hangs on the spinning dots.

System Restore works to get things back to normal.

I figure this is probably some kind of driver issue -- I tried de-selecting the USB driver option but that makes no difference.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, and where should I look for a solution? Thanks.

I managed to solve this by not installing the VirtualBox USB and bridged networking drivers. Without them, everything is booting fine, regardless of whether or not the hypervisorlaunchtype is off or auto.
