Hello i am using virual box 4.2.12 running on 64 bit windows 7.

this is not guest edition.

I want o install 32 bit ubuntu on virtual box because virtual box is unable to run the 64 bit version. Once I start my machine every seems to work fine.
However the Ubuntu installation procedure never begins. I just get a black screen. Thanks.

A VM log file is needed. Please carefully read Minimum information needed for assistance.

i don't understand what a guest log file is. I just installed virtual box with the defualt settings and even though I have 64-bit windows I am unable to install 64-bit ubuntu so I have tried to install 32 bit ubuntu. I have allocated 2048 MB of RAM and 8 GB of Storage memory that is dynamic. I don't know what a guest log file is and do not see how to access this in the help document.

See Online Users Manual for the location of the log file.
