Ubuntu Increase root disk space, Dynamically Expanding spa??

I set up my Ubuntu client using the default settings on the disk space to Dynamically Expand and gave the disk space as 15gb virtual and 4gb actual. With very little use Im in need to install some updates but seems like I cannot install them due to the low disk space. I had Dynamically Expanding option checked so dont know wtf happened here. I seen that my root disk space is all but full. Is there a way to increase this disk space which would I guess be the actual disk space, and increasing the virtual space did nothing. Please any help is appreciated.

User failure to read the documentation seems the most likely explanation.

Lots of problems with your questions:

1. There is no such thing as a dynamically expanding drive.

2. Your description of "15GB virtual and 4GB actual" makes little sense, since no such options are offered. The only parameter you specify is the drive capacity, i.e. 15GB. After that it's pretty simple to understand: if you specify a capacity of 15GB, the drive can hold about 15GB.
