VT-x/AMD-v hardware acceleration error (how do I fix this?)

Post by ApacheOmega »

I'm trying to install windows 8 64 or 32 bit on my virtual machine (what I'm really trying to do Is install windows server 2012 and SharePoint 2013) but I keep getting the same error:
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature.

Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

I went to my bios but I don't see any option for this type of scenario or category in my BIOS to even attempt this adjustment. Can somebody walk me through the steps to rectify this situation?
my system: i7 processor, ASUS P8H67-M Pro/CSM motherboard, SSHD

Thanks!!!
