How can I safely get files back on the host?

Post by Winjas »

I want to 'detonate' executables I think might be contaminated. For this, I don't want to share the file with the host, because the virtual environment is to protect the host.

Alas, after testing, whatever I decide to use I'll want back on the host. How is this normally done?

Is this an automatic translation? I can barely make sense of it.

I'm guessing you want to download and virus check executable files into a VM. If the files are OK you'll dump them in a shared folder for the host. Your final question is how to transfer files back to the host?

If my understanding is correct then you need to enable "Shared Folders". For that you must install the Guest Additions into the guest, then configure some Shared Folders using the VM settings dialog. If you can read English then the Guest Additions are described in the user manual, chapter 4.
