bulletmark,
Yes I did and they did in fact fix issues back then. Let's see what happens with the next release. I have worked direct with the DEVs on some issues that I have found and at the moment I only have one remaining issue for the DEVs to fix. As you can see I have Ubuntu working properly and to tell you the truth I always have. But different hardware seems to be the real issue.

Re: Ubuntu client running slloooowwwly
I run Ubuntu (now 13.04) guests on Ubuntu (now 13.04) and Mac OS X (now 10.8.4) hosts. On my Ubuntu host, VB 4.2.12 runs the Ubuntu guest with 3D fairly reliably now, allthough I still see guest aborts they are very rare unlike previous VB versions (and that has been across 2 quite different hardware platforms, one nvidia graphics based, and one intel graphics based). On my Mac host with VB 4.2.12, and all versions over the last 12 months, the Ubuntu guest aborts frequently. So much that 3D is unusable. I find 2D too slow so for the last 12 months I just typically boot the Ubuntu guest in 2D and then ssh in from my host mac, at least until this bug gets fixed.Perryg wrote:bulletmark,

Re: Ubuntu client running slloooowwwly
The slowness has to do with Ubuntu deciding to go with the Gallium 3D drivers, this seems to be fixed in SVN and should be available in the next maintenance.
The Mac host however is a subject for a different topic. They have their own issues and I don't have a Mac myself.
