I want to have virtualized linux under my mac. Once it's configured and everything installed I want to sync that image with my windows PC.
I'm planning to use bittorrent sync, which basically is 2way real time p2p syncing.
So should I point it to sync specific dirs on both OS (which)
Or I'll have to shutdown the virtual linux, export the image from VB, then sync it to the Windows, import in VB and start it up?

Bittorrent sync will only destroy your VM, there are way too many things that can go wrong, and let's not even talk about the quantity of data that is changed per session.
The good old way is the one that will work "best" : copy the full VM folder everytime.
But since you want to sync between Mac & Windows, you WILL run into issues, especially into device's names per example.
All in all, I would definitly not recommend transfering your VM across different OS on a regular basis. On the other hand, I would suggest you configure a VM on each and have a sync system in the guest OS instead.

I'm gonna sync just the image which is going to be in a file container.
Do I still expect issues that way? Even if the VB OS is shutdown when syncing? To be honest for me is hard to imagine why there should be issues.
Anyway, please tell me
- do i export the image and then sync it
- or just sync the folders where it stores the image it uses, in that case where is it placed on each OS?

What kind of container are you talking about here?Gnikf wrote:I'm gonna sync just the image which is going to be in a file container.

Well for me it's just asking for troubles, that's for sure.
If you insist on doing this, you must sync the VM folder, or files into it, if you followed the normal layout.
