64 Bit winodws OS request a Windows Driver Disk

Post by Biofool »

I am trying to install Windows 2008 R2. So I crated a "New VM" select windows family & OS Windows 2008 OS.

Then I boot the evaluation ISO which brings up a window that says it needs some drivers additional drivers and that I can eject the install disk to supply the dirver disk.

I've tried creating a new VM for Windows 2008/ Windows 7/Windows 20012. They all give the same error.

Here's the log (for windows 7):

Attach as a zip file the VM log, do NOT post it like this - it spams the topic AND its get truncated.

In addition to the log, a picture of the error message would be useful. Note however that if the message is coming from the guest installer then you should do whatever the installer is asking you to do. This question would have nothing to do with VirtualBox unless you can show some evidence that the same thing would not happen on a physical PC with the same spec as your VM recipe.

If Windows 7/2008 asks for a driver for a DVD device you have a bad ISO file (broken download?).
If it cannot find a storage device for installation the guest wasn't defined with the correct guest OS selection.
