VBoxSVC crashing on VM start

Post by arich57 »

Hello,

I'm running the latest version of VirtualBox on my Macbook Pro Retina and the VBoxSVC crash every time I try to start any of my VMs (Windows 7, Windows XP, Fedora 16). This leaves me with no shared clipboard or why to change the network or share settings after the VM starts.

All of the VMs say "Information Inaccessible" after. I have to fully exist Virtual box to get back in.

When I run the VBoxSVC manually, I get the following output:

Code: Select all

Unicron:~ arich$ /Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxSVC --auto-shutdown

(The dyld is because I have some other lbis I load in my dev envorinment. Crash happens even if I don't have those.)

Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

I have already tried uninstall/reinstall with no help in fixing.

OS: OS X 10.8.3
VirtualBox: 4.2.12rr84980

Please let me know if there is any other information needed that would help.

Thanks.

Provide the actual log file of VBoxSVC, aswell as the VM log you're trying to run and the guest config output - see Minimum information needed for assistance.

These don't look good to me at all. It looks like you have permissions problems but not 100% sure, but your installation is definitly not fine. Have you tried full deinstall, restart, then reinstall again?

I did try that but maybe I didn't get a "full uninstall".

How should I go about making sure I have a full, 100% uninstall? I ran the uninstall script but not sure if there is something more I need to do.

Thanks.

Just did the uninstall/reinstall again and this time it seems to fix everything.

There was also a software update from Apple but I doubt that had anything to do with it.

Thanks for help.
