I got it to work - somehow! I burned a new Server Trial 64-bit disk and it works fine now, with 64GB space and 1.5GB memory - how strange!
Thankyou for all your help guys!

Spoke too soon!

It says:

C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage showvminfo "Windows Server 2012 BI
" --details
VBoxManage.exe: error: Failed to create the VirtualBox object!
VBoxManage.exe: error: Code CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE (0x80080005) - Server execu
tion failed (extended info not available)
VBoxManage.exe: error: Most likely, the VirtualBox COM server is not running or
failed to start.

I am almost certain that error message has got something to do with memory. The exact message is:

Your PC needs to restart.
Error code 0x0000001e
Parameters:
0xFFFFFFFFC0000005
0xFFFFF802C297DE0F
0x0000000000000000
0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

How much memory should I allocate for Server 2012 64-bit?

I would personally give it AT LEAST 2 GB

I wouldn't expect too much progress until this is resolved. VirtualBox COM server is required for everything.

I tried everything else except a combination of 2 GB and 64 GB Hard disk space!

Yes I do.
I have tried:
Uninstalling VBox and reinstalling (also with no USB support - followed instructions in another forum with no luck!)

I am going to install it on my desktop for now as that works (strange) until I get this sorted

What's interesting is when I install it on VBox on my desktop, it installs as it should (with a white progress bar) whereas the laptop it doesn't!

So you had the COM error, then you managed to make it work, but now it doesn't work anymore with the COM error again. What changed? Or what did you do different to make it work when it did?
