I need to configure a Linux Red Hat 7.3 Guest (kernel 2.4.18-3) with dual monitor.
I have installed it successfully and then i try to install guest addition for use second monitor. But the Guest addition installation fails on "Build the guest addition main module".
I know that support for guest addition is from kernel 2.6.x but is really impossible to install on 2.4.x?
Thanks
P.S.: I'm using Virtualbox 4.2.12 r84980 and Guest Addition 4.2.12

Re: Red Hat 7.3
It's certainly not "impossible" in the traditional sense of the word. All the source code is out there (for both Linux and VirtualBox) and we're not exactly stopping anyone from doing it themselves.
But it's true that the VirtualBox Guest Additions a) do not support Linux 2.4 and b) we have no intention of changing that.
I'd only call it "infeasible"
