Attached log is for Audio HD Controller. In this case the audio card is recognized by alsa but video artifacts are present as mentioned above. Guest was "powered down" to complete the log.
Since the previous log I removed many of the old snapshots. During this log I tried numerous settings for gnome-mplayer but never got sound output. At one point I also installed latest daily build of
$ sudo dpkg -i oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms_0.201305250346~precise1_all.deb

The logs don't show an error and the guest is seeing the proper multimedia source. It must be a guest issue.
I would try downloading an Ubuntu install ISO and see if it works. If so you know where the issue is.
