Win Host/OEL Guest w WebLogic. Can't reach guest from host

I am trying to setup a VM on a Windows host with Oracle Enterprise Linux v6.4 (OEL) as the guest OS, where the guest has a WebLogic (WL) application server also installed on it, and I want to be able to access pages served from WL (for example the administration page deployed by default on port 7001 from WL) using Microsoft Internet Explorer running on the host.
I configured the VM using a bridged adaptor. The VM’s IP is assigned by DHCP and appears to be working as expected. I am able to ping the guest from the host and other workstations on the LAN as expected. When I go to bring up pages served by WL on the guest I am able to access the pages as expected from the guest (via Firefox on guest), but not able to access them from the host or any other workstations on the LAN. Tested with both IE and Firefox.
I tried setting the various Promiscuous Mode settings for the VM’s network adapter without seeing a difference in this behavior. I have tried connecting the VM’s network adapter to both wired and wireless physical network connections and also have not seen a difference in this behavior where I can bring up pages from the guest but am not able to access them from the host. I have also tried this with both WIN7 and WIN XP SP3 as the host OS, all resulting in the same behavior.
Thoughts on where I have gone wrong with my simple configuration using a bridged adaptor for the VM?
