Windown 8 host , 64 bit - Linux 32 bit

Post by ngocnguyen »

Hi all,
I downloaded Oracle Linux 32 bit, downloaded and created VMbox. My Operating system is Window 8, 64 bit.
WHen I tried to Start my Virtual Machine for the first time. It did not work. the screen is just all black.
Is it because of the incompatibility in Linux 32 bit and Window 8, 64 bit?
I'm new to this area, please help me to solve this problem. I'm trying to install VM, and Oracle E business Suite.
Helps are highly appreciated!

Why so much RAM for a 32bit VM? Anyway, 2GB is more than your 4GB host can afford. I would try 512MB for the guest.

Also, 12MB seems low for VRAM. Does the VM settings dialog not warn you that this is too low?

Finally, many modern OS assumes that an IO-APIC will be available. I don't know if that's true of OEL-32bit or not.

Reconfigure the relevant fields using the VM settings dialogs. See the "Configuring VMs" chapter of the user manual.
