Booting from CD .iso image

Post by ONEEYEMAN »

Hi, ALL,
I just installed VirtualBox and used it to make Gentoo Linux installation.
It installed successfully, but now I need to go back to boot from CD to fix some things in the install.

How do I go back to boot from CD .iso image?

I have latest VirtualBox install on Windows 7 64-bit.

Thank you.

Add the ISO to the CD/DVD drive, like you did for the first install, then restart the VM. Unless you changed the boot settings, you'll start on the ISO.

The image is still attached but it is booting up from the hard drive.
Where do I set up the boot sequence?

Thank you.

In the VMs setting - with the VM powered OFF - go to the main VBox dialog and highlight the VM, choose SETTINGS click on SYSTEM and see the boot order in the popped up dialog just about dead center in the middle of the window.

An easier way is to peck the F12 key when booting the VM and bring up the boot menu, hit the letter C to boot to the CDROM.
