Need to fetch the UUID mapped to Snapshot image

Post by sunlight »

Hi All,

I have taken the 3 snapshots of VM(in running state) at different time that it got stored in Snapshots folder. Now I need to find the UUID or vdi image mapped to snapshot name which I have given while taking a snapshot.

When I am trying to use "VirtualBox snapshot <vmname> showvminfo <UUID>" then under "Snapshot section" it displays the UUID name of .sav file in front of Snapshot name.

Any idea?

vboxmanage list hdds gives you the link between a snapshot UUID, its file, the VM and the snapshot name it belongs to.

vboxmanage list hdds is not displaying the details for snapshot.

I am using the below version of virtual box

VBoxManage -v
3.0.14r58977

Version 3 is quite old now and have no proper experience on it, so if anyone does, I let them answer & help you here.
I would strongly suggest you upgrade tho.

Thanks noteirak for replying.

I can't upgrade the virtual box as of now and looking for some other options by which I can map the snapshot name with .vdi

Anybody have some other idea ?
