Trivial question regarding boot screen size.

I've been using Virtualbox for some years now and have a number of various Linux and Windows VMs running very well. However, this entire time there's something I've been unable to figure out or determine if it's even possible. Namely, is there a means of setting the Virtualbox machine manager to automatically detect native monitor resolution so the Virtualbox splash screen and boot screen of each virtual machine display at full size? Each of my guests has Guest Additions installed, but they only snap to full size at the login screen once the VM is up and running. Up until then the boot screen displays at something like 800x600. I apologize in advance for how trivial this may seem. I've done some extensive searching on this subject with no luck at all, so any advice will be tremendously appreciated.

Not easily. What you are seeing is a condition that the boot process is not actually using the guest additions drivers until they are actually loaded. You can manually set the framebuffers on a Linux guest to fit standard screen size but the benefit really does not justify the additional work. IMHO.

That was my suspicion, but I figured to ask anyway. Many thanks for your reply.
