Hi,

my Win XP installation doesn't start anymore as I am receiving following message:

Premature end of data in tag VirtualBox line 8.
Location: '/Users/Michael/VirtualBox VMs/WinXP/WinXP.vbox', line 87 (8), column 22.

I am running MAC OS X 10.7.5 and I have no idea how to get it running again. I tried the refresh button but nothing happens. Thanks for any support!

Do NOT change any settings in VB for this VM. Shut down any running VMs and quit the VB application. Back up the WinXP.vbox file and the WinXP.vbox-prev file in the folder that the error message indicates. These are very small so it should only take a minute. It would be better to back up the whole WinXP folder.

Then compare the contents of the WinXP.vbox file to the WinXP.vbox-prev file using a text editor (you can use the TextEdit application for this). There's probably a bit of stuff missing from WinXP.vbox. If that is the case then move it to the desktop and re-name the WinXP.vbox-prev file to WinXP.vbox. Start up VB and try to start your WinXP VM.
