Unable to Import Appliance.

I'm trying to import an OVF image which was generated from VMware. The image has 3 IDE drive in it, but during the import I hit with an error saying "Device is already attached to port 1, device 0 of controller 'IDE Controller' of this virtual machine.".
Can someone please guide me on how to run the import successfully? My host is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Vbox version 4.2.12. I did google around but unable to find any resources which can solve my problem.

There isn't much scope for a guide IMHO. You just select File | Import appliance... and point at your OVF. My guess is that VBox doesn't like the VM recipe, which means it can't attach all the drives. You might be better off moving the VM manually, instead of using export/import. I.e. take the bare VMDKs and build a new VM around them. Doing it this way would probably give you more control, e.g. the ability to drop one of the drives.
Any particular reason for three drives? Why not just one bigger drive, or three partitions on one drive etc?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did create a brand new VM instead, but when i want to mount the VMDKs file i got another error instead. The reason I got 3 drives is because the VM is for application development purpose so I split it up to 3 drives for easier managing.

You can't use the VMDKs that came with the appliance - those have a special format that only the import tool can decode (though I guess there's no harm in you attempting to clone them to VDI using VBoxManage, since the latter should have the ability to decode them). I was talking about copying the drive images from the original VMWare VM.
