Hi there,
I am running VirtualBox Ver 4.1.20 on one machine on my network. The inbuilt VirtualBox DHCP server is giving IP addresses to my general network machines when they first connect to the network. I have switched off the DHCP server in VirtualBox and this appears to solve the problem. How can VirtualBox hand out IP's outside the machine it is running on? I am running the VirtualBox in network Bridge mode, would this give the DHCP server access to the general network?
Thanks in advance.

Re: DHCP giving IP's to general network
Bridged mode is like putting a switch and attach it to your host, your VM and to your normal network. A switch doesn't stop broadcast (what DHCP is based on) so yes, it is perfectly normal behaviour.
