Two Failed Ubuntu Installs

Hi, I am new to VirtualBox, so I guess this might be a simple error.
I install VB. Then I put my Ubuntu iso into the virtual disk drive. After an hour install process, it says remove the disk from the drive and press enter.
It seems to automatically remove the virtual disk. If I right click the disk icon, it seems to be confirming the disk is not virtually in it. So I press Enter, ... and nothing. Absolutely nothing happens.
So I close it off, and then try and start the virtual-Ubuntu up. It looks like it might do it, then it says something about low-graphics mode. A multitude of selections does absolutely nothing.
As I say, I am a complete newb to virtual machines (and also Linux as well), so its probably a simple error I am making.
I hope someone can help.
My host is Vista.

Post the guests log file (as an attachment)
See
Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have two such files, posted below. One of them had a .1 extension.
Basically, at the end of the installation it says remove the installation cd and press enter. The virtual disk seems to remove itself, but whatever I do it does not seem to recognize I have pressed Enter.
So I restart, and that is when it starts to complain about low-graphics-mode. Again, anything I do seems not to have any effect. In fact it is difficult to even see where my mouse is pointing inside the VirtualBox window.
Thanks again for the response.

First thing you should do is enable hardware virtualization in your PCs bios.
Next it may be the original low graphics warning that everyone sees but you should be able to disable it so the warning does not pop-up again.
You should install the guest additions (in the guest) This should help

Thanks for the reply.
First thing you should do is enable hardware virtualization in your PCs bios.
Is this a setting in VirtualBox? I do not know how to fiddle with my PC's bios, and am not sure I would want to, even if I knew how. Is this essential?
Next it may be the original low graphics warning that everyone sees but you should be able to disable it so the warning does not pop-up again.
Do you have a link for a method to do this?
This should help Howto: Install Linux Guest Additions
Thanks, I'll give this a go.

Hi, I am still really unsure what to do. I don't want to mess with my bios if possible.
I don't know how to get past this low-graphics issue. The best I can get to is a command line. Can anyone provide a link?
Because of the low-graphics issue I cannot even get to the stage where I can install the guest-additions. So if Guest Additions would solve this, how can I install guest-additions when I cannot get past the low-graphics issue to start with?
Please help, I am out of my depth.

You don't have to change your bios but it will make your guest a lot faster if you do. As for the low graphics, if you are getting the OS low graphics warning then it might be a failed install. Hard to say what exactly to do but there is a recovery at boot and even the low graphics warning should have a section where you can trouble shoot it. This however you should ask of the OS forum you are having the issue with.
