That is exactly what I was seeing. There is something about this machine that does not fit with the other guests and may be what is causing your issues. Look in the bios and make sure that hardware virtualization is in fact enabled. There may also be a security setting that is preventing VirtualBox from using the hardware virtualization and that needs to be disabled. I think it is called execution bit or something like that.

So I have been running an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS virtual machine for a while now and I install pretty much every VirtualBox Update.
Ever since 4.2 my VM crashes at least once a day, just randomly. Usually let's me use some virtualenvs and run server for a while, but then it just crashes where the only option is to close the running host, and then it shows as Aborted in the list of available hosts to launch.
This was never a problem on previous versions of VirtualBox for this instance.
