We have a Windows 2003 64 bit server with a 50 GB "C" drive and a 5.46 TB RAID 5 "F" drive (only 1.5 TB of the 5.46 TB is being used on the "F" drive). When we Virtual Boot the entire SP backup with VirtualBox, it will get to the point of loading the VirtualBox "welcome" screen (with the Oracle logo), then the VirtualBox screen goes black and will never launch the backup (we have let it sit there for a day and it never loads).
If we take out the "F" drive and only Virtual Boot the "C" drive, the restore works perfectly and the Server comes up as it should as a virtual machine. Why wouldn't VirtualBox boot the 5.46 TB RAID array (even if only 1.5 TB is being used)? We can mount the "F drive, so we know the backup from ShadowProtect worked correctly. Any help would be appreciated as we can't run this server in VirtualBox if the actual server goes down. Thanks!

Re: ShadowProtect not booting 5 TB RAID array in VirtualBox
Sorry about that. Here are the details with the guest Log file attached. Thanks for the help!
Version 4.1.12
Host (Windows Server 2011) has 16 GB of RAM, Guest is setup with 2 GB
Backups made with ShadowProtect 5.0.7 (Same problem happened with previous versions)
Does VirtualBox have an issue with RAID arrays over 2 TB? Since it works with all other backups we VirtualBoot (that are under 2 TB).

Your log seems clean except for one line in your log that I have never seen before. I don't know if it is an error or just a warning/information :
Maybe others will have more insight on this.
There seems to be few hits on this error in the past, see the Google search on Virtualbox domain.00:00:04.635 Guest Log: BIOS: Booting from Hard Disk...
00:00:06.320 Guest Log: int13_harddisk: function 42. Can't use 64bits lba

Re: ShadowProtect not booting 5 TB RAID array in VirtualBox
Thanks for the quick response. I have tried many of the potential solutions in your Google post, but nothing works. I can't be the first person to try and VirtualBoot a standard C drive with Server 2003 and a 5 TB RAID 5 array as the "D" drive (The C drive boots just fine if I leave off the storage array D drive). Hopefully someone else had been through this experience and can let me know if it's even possible. I have heard about the 2 TB limit, but I figured that was already addressed in the newer versions of VB. Thanks again!
