Ubuntu 12.04 in low graphics mode

After installing latest version of VBox (4.2.12) on my Mac mini Ubuntu boots on low graphics mode with a message that gives alternatives to fix. But, when I choose one of the alternatives the system goes to Virtual Box terminal login. So, I can't fix the problem. Any ideas on how to solve this? If this is a bug, please explain how to uninstall this version and go back to the previous version. Thanks.
