Virtual Network Performance Box Bridge mode

Post by ErickMax »

I have two initial scenarios:

Scenario * 1
I have installed virtual box on windows 7, and I have virtualized one elque install linux oracle database 11g oracle.

Scenario * 2
Now on another pc with windows XP I have mounting procedures oracle database 11g.

The problem appears when I migrate from sqlserver to oracle using sqldeveloper, transfirencia of data on performance on the * 1 is really bad and if * 2 is much higher, basically the ratio of 4: 1, know how to improve the speed of the virtual box, I think it may be the vitual adapter, can someone advise me how to improve the migration process with virtual box.

regards

Your question is very specific and will require to exactly analyze your situation before any kind of optimization. I am afraid this is way out of scope of this forum.
For the Virtualbox optimizing part, there isn't much per say - Virtualbox only emulates hardware, it doesn't emulate programs or a CPU architecture.
What you can check is that you gave it enough CPU power, RAM, disk space and an appropriate networking card (VirtIO would be best here) - just like a physical machine!

Beware that Oracle is quite a beast and unless you actually know what you're doing, you'll end up with poor performance in the first place.
