Just recently I have installed the update to Virtual Box 4.2.12 r84980, VirtualBox 4.2.12 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack and Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Editions 4.2.12 r84980. As the Host Machine I am running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit edition and inside it I am attempting to install Windows Virtual PC. The computer in which I am running this on is a Late 2006 Mac mini 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB memory, 60GB hard drive and Snow Leopard OS X.6.8. I have successfully downloaded and installed the file Windows6.1-KB958559-x86-RefreshPkg. I have successfully downloaded the file WindowsXPMode_en-us but where I am having problems is in the extraction and installation of Windows XP SP3. At the tail end, a message indicating that the installation has failed pops up.
The first time in which I have run into this error, I reran the WindowsXPMode_en-us file which installs Windows XP SP3 but I get the message that this is already installed and can not be installed again. I then in Program and Features uninstalled Windows Virtual PC. I have yet to try reinstalling Windows6.1-KB958559-x86-RefreshPkg which installs Windows Virtual PC and WindowsXPMode_en-us which installs Windows XP SP3. Any ideas as to what could be happening here?
