Problem Booting from .vmx (OS X 10.8)
Problem Booting from .vmx (OS X 10.8)
I've ran virtual machines booting from an ISO before, but cannot figure out how to do so from a .vmx file, as I need to for an online class. With the ISO, I just needed to go to Settings---Storage---Controller: IDE---Add CD/DVD---ISO file. But I tried this process with the .vmx file and could not get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated, as this is for an online computer science course.

.vmx are VMware VM config file. They are the equivalent of a .vbox file.
They can only be used in VMware, not in Virtualbox.
