[Q] Can my work see what I'm doing?

Hey guys,
I've looked through the forums and can't find an answer to this and I've tried Google but no one has quite this scenario. I work at home and I'm connected to my work VPN when I'm working. When I'm connected to my work VPN, I assume they can see all the network traffic that is going on at the time I'm connected. To keep my personal stuff off the network, I've installed a guest OS (XP) in a VM so that I can connect to the VPN there. For some reason I have to set up the VM with a bridged connection to my network adapter otherwise I get dropped off my work VPN every 30 minutes. My question is, since the VPN is connected through my guest OS, can the see the network traffic that is going through my host OS since the connections are bridged?
Sorry in advanced if this is a dumb question, I've never been very good at networks....
