VB under Unbuntu 12.10, running Windows 7 as guest OS. When I start to stream content via Netflix in a Windows guest, after a few minutes it will go black as if the screensaver kicked on. The Menu Toolbar however is still visible, so I am able to press back key go to the Browse mode, and start the selected show again, but after a few minutes it gose black again. If I boot into Windows directly, it works fine.
TIA

Post the guests log file (as an attachment)
See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

Re: Netflix blacks out
I would enable large pages since your processor supports EPT
See user manual (VBoxManage) modifyvm for syntax
Since your processor only has 4 cores I would reduce this to 2
I can't tell from the log but when you installed the guest additions did you select to install the wddm drivers?
Code: Select all
EnableLargePages <integer> = 0x0000000000000000 (0)Since your processor only has 4 cores I would reduce this to 2
Code: Select all
NumCPUs <integer> = 0x0000000000000004 (4)Re: Netflix blacks out
I had the same problem (win 2008R2 guest on LMDE). I first thought it was network related as I was playing with different network config and the problem seemed to have occurred out of the blue. I even went so far as to re-install the guest but it didn't help.
Did some googling and found an old 2011 post here in this forum mentioning the number of virual CPU used. I reduced the number of virtual CPU from 4 to 1. Everything works perfectly after the modification.
